Some Info About My New '69 Bronco:

302 V8, all original, 3 on the tree, front bucket seats, no rear bench (not for long), very little visible rust. Only major rust appears to be on Driver's doorpost. Most of the weatherstripping appears to be missing, and entire vehicle is in need of a paint job & a little Bondo! Not bad for $1000, though. This baby oughta make a great 4 wheelin' and 'froadin' truck once she's ready for the road. Stay tuned for updates!

OK, here's the skinny on the truck from my own observations since I've got the truck home. The truck appears to have been very rusty at one time. This is evidenced by the floorboard patches, rusted away hardtop, sagging DS door, and underbody rust. Currently, the truck is in the shape of a vehicle that has been patched once, and is just about ready for another re-do. To be honest, the truck is in rougher shape than I expected, but still I'm looking forward to the challenge. After all, I was looking for a project, and I've been out in the parking lot every day this week working on it in near freezing conditions! Mechanically, the truck's good, aside from a dead spot in the throttle that disappears with the application of choke (most likely due to the timing being off). I've gotten some of the lights working including headlights and turn signals, but the brake lights and interior lights are still inop. Last night, Thursday, I finished the replacement of the rear brake system, and decided to take an inaugural run around the parking lot. With only the rear brakes working, I crept around the lot, trailing smoke all the way (due to using full choke, cuz it was really cold!). According to Todd, who observed the ride "You're pollutin', man!" Well, that'll clear up with time. I did get the chance before parking the truck for the night to give my buddies Dave, Donald, Tomas, Dan (Who rode on the hood), and Greg a ride around the lot. The comment from the guys in the back was "Oh, man, we're such hicks! I love it!" Stay tuned for more from the realm of hickdom.
